In this full-day workshop, SCAP finalist Sam Cranstoun will work with participants to design and execute unique watercolour works, in the style of Cranstoun's ‘Picture Elements’ body of work (shown above).

Each image will be pixelated and carried out on readymade graph paper, allowing participants to work with colour, shading, composition and other formal investigations, while considering the importance of photographs in a society increasingly shaped by mass media.

Cranstoun will walk students through the process of selecting images, modifying and editing these images, and then applying various watercolour techniques to bring the artworks to life.
