Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2018: Exhibition

Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2018: Exhibition

The Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2018 is one of the most dynamic and prestigious visual arts awards in Australia.  Artworks by 40 finalists from across the country are showcased in a stunning exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery.

Now in its 13th year, the Sunshine Coast Art Prize has grown into a nationally recognised award that attracts an exciting mix of emerging mid-career and established contemporary Australian artists. The diverse range of work on display by some of Australia’s leading artists creates an outstanding exhibition that is truly reflective of contemporary visual arts practice in Australia.

The winning artist will receive a cash prize of $25,000 presented by Sunshine Coast Council, and their artwork will be acquired for the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. There will also be a Highly Commended prize to the value of $5,000 awarded thanks to the De Deyne family. Montville Country Cabins and Caloundra Regional Gallery will be offering a two-week artist Residency.

A non-acquisitive People’s Choice prize of $2,500, sponsored by Caloundra Chamber of Commerce, will be awarded to the artist who receives the most votes during the Sunshine Coast Art Prize exhibition. To vote, visit the gallery website - gallery.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.
